English for New Bostonians (ENB) seeks applications for an ESOL for Parents Specialist to serve in a consultant role to lead and facilitate ENB’s ESOL for Parents Community of Practice. The ESOL for Parents and Caregivers Initiative focuses on improving the English skills of immigrant parents (directly) and the academic success of their children (indirectly).  Since 2011, this initiative has assisted hundreds of parents across the city of Boston to improve their English and engage more effectively with their children’s educational experience.  The recently revised ESOL for Parents curriculum was created by an experienced ESOL teacher and parent education expert.  The Consultant will work directly with ENB staff, ESOL teachers and school personnel who collectively offer 9 classes across 6 different sites.  The Consultant will work with ENB funded programs to implement the curriculum; provide technical assistance and support to ESOL teachers; and promote coordination among community ESOL and school-system partners.  This position will require approximately 20 hours per month of work.
